The days are getting shorter and the air is that much colder, but that didn’t diminish the enthusiasm of this dedicated group honing their skills for Morristown.
Unfortunately the pre-race practice took out a pair of potential warriors when both Eathon “Big Boy” Banks and new rider Andrew “Super” Starr, both pusher the envelope one lick too far and tasted some Weaver-Vegas clay. See you next week guys!!!
Fortunately those who made it through practice all brought their game faces, and they were all ugly!!! …”LETS GET READY TO RUUUUMBLLLLE”!!!!!!
MOTO 1
Goldilocks beware this one is full of Wolves, the Shanewolfe trio of Timmy, Walker and Lucca had lone Blue Chipper Cody looking for another gear. But all four raced hard too the line and made the track look easy for the rowdy, rambunctious Weaverville crowd.
MOTO 2
This was an all Blue Chip affair featuring Adam, Dalton and Josie, and all three came to race this week. Heat 1 was all “Big D” Dalton Wyatt followed in by Josie and Adam. Then in Heat 2 we all got a glimpse of the “Black Widow” as Josie pushed Big D up in turn three to steal the round. The final round was no contest, as Birthday Boy Dalton led wire to wire and Adam “Bomb” pinched Josie for the two spot.
MOTO 3
This was by far the Main Event of the day, and not a kid over 8. Huge “You The Man” props to Alex Dinley, a relatively new rider just back from a fractured collar-bone. He got thrown in with a bunch of seasoned “Pocket Rockets” and raced like a champ even getting up after a crash to finish the day. Reminds me of a “little” Brando Hardesty, that’s right …Tougher than a Waffle House steak.
Back to the action, Heat 1 was all Jaxon “Mop-Top” Banks, with all kinds of carnage going on behind. Heat 2 Jumpin Jack decided it was safer out front and that’s where he stayed. Heat 3 was a repeat of 2 with all kinds of action in the last straight.
The little Grommits wanted a Main so we let them have it. After picking their lanes based on position after the heats, it was time to finish what we started.
Out of the gate it was the Mop Top again, but Jack and Cager were not gonna let him go and Jack sliced into turn one first by half a bike and never looked back. Cager edged new Novice Jaxon at the line and they were followed in by a close battle between Keaton, Colton, Trip and soon to be in the middle of these guys Alex Dinley.
MOTO 4
Unfortunately two of our 6 and under combatants went down in practice so the race was down to 3 year old Izaac “Z-Man” Stone and Owen the Turbo Riedesel. Heat 1, Owen demonstrated his skills to pay the bills. Then being cooler than Fonzie himself, rode the next two heats with his new buddy Izaac making sure he had a good time at his first BMX race. Good job Owen. |
