| Moto#1 The first angry gate at the new track promised some tight racing and the combatants did not disappoint. When the dust settled it was “Robo-Leg” Hardesty seizing the victory in front of a non-stop dog fight behind. I personally have not seen that much slicing and dicing since the Ginsu Knife convention. Walker took the two spot followed by little Bro Luca, with the Bad Boy shaking his head in the four spot. Goggles Gonzales and Cody rounded out the places. Moto#2 With Manic Mundy moving up to Novice we once again were fortunate enough to witness the battle between him and Scott Spieler. This time it was all Spieler though, as he took all three motos and Dylan was left having to contend with the likes of Josie, Avery and Adam in Scott’s wake. Moto#3 Never underestimate the power of a new bike. “Killer” Cager Moss was sporting his new Crupi and powered away from the rest of the group in all three motos. Skipper Moss landed in the two spot battling with Sweet Emily “G” all day, and Jack snuck into the three spot just edging out Emily and Colton in the point tally. Moto#4 This moto started with Travis Leppi flipping himself out of the gate in the first moto, then getting pipped at the line in the second moto. The third moto was all “Mr. Magenta” Dalton Wyatt who took the overall with a clean sweep of the moto’s. Newcomers Spencer Beylotte and Andrew Weidel rounded out the places, and look like they will soon be dicing with the leaders. Moto#5 Holston Kent picked right up where he left off last season and swept the moto’s looking smoother than butter on a 90 degree day, unaware that behind him Homer “Bubba” Hodge and Isaac “The Undertaker” Weidel were bruising the dirt and swapping spots in a tight battle for the two spot. Moto#6 Last seasons most improved rider Trenton Messer, got a taste of the new and improved Weaverville dirt surface as he plowed into the second straight writing a cheque he couldn’t cash, and this seasons most improved rider Jaxon Banks capitalized on Big T’s mistake and then swept the day, leaving Trenton in the two spot followed by the sister act of Rachel and Laney Lanter, who are a welcome addition to the WNCBMX Diva scene. Moto#7 The battle of the “Little Big Men” was a three man confrontation with the two 4 year olds trying to tame the cagey 5 year old. But Christopher using his new-found stand up skills rode away from his younger less experienced combatants in all three motos. The battle behind was an inferno of intensity with Ethan edging newcomer Eli at the line for the two spot. Moto#8 Warren Wilson graduate and new track rat Lexi Lewis has thrown down the gauntlet in the Cruiser class, scooping up Matt Borton’s old Redline and making the new track look like his own personal stomping ground. This week he had to content with Randy ”Silk” Sitton and Loren “Old School” Lanter. This week it was “Old School” in the two spot with “Silky” smoothing out the three spot. I personally relish the day we get to see a Lexi, Nick, Matt and Jon Sarver showdown, throw in the dark horse Danny Bowman and we got us a GO211.com feature. |
